Tongue Tie Support
Comprehensive Tongue-Tie Assessment & Clinical Support

Have you been advised that your baby has a tongue tie? Is your local hospital's tongue tie waitlist too long?

Feeding your baby should be a time of connection, but when tongue-tie or oral restrictions are involved, it can often feel like a challenge for both of you. Whether you are breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or a combination of both, I provide a calm, specialist service in the comfort of your own home to help you and your baby thrive. Tongue-tie (or ankyloglossia) can be a challenging condition that affects feeding and comes with symptoms like nipple pain and damage, or you may notice your baby struggling to gain weight. If you suspect your baby may have a tongue tie or if you’re experiencing difficulties feeding, a tongue tie assessment and division (frenotomy) may help you and your baby. Read more about tongue-tie symptoms here.

What to Expect from Your Tongue-Tie Service

Comprehensive Tongue Tie Assessment & Support I perform a thorough evaluation of your baby’s oral anatomy and tongue mobility, checking for any restrictions that could be affecting their ability to latch or feed effectively. I’ll combine that with a thorough look into your feeding, medical and birth history. We will spend time observing a full feed, allowing me to provide hands on support with breastfeeding positioning and attachment tailored to your baby’s needs.

Tongue-Tie Division (Frenotomy) If a restriction (tongue tie) is identified and is impacting your baby’s feeding or causing you symptoms, a division can be performed during the same visit. This minor surgical procedure is quick and carried out with the utmost care, precision, and respect for your baby’s comfort.

Guidance for your feeding journey Post-procedure care is vital. I will support you through the very first feed following the division and demonstrate gentle oral exercises to encourage optimal healing and function. I’ll also offer information and advice to help your baby heal comfortably. You will leave the session with a bespoke feeding plan if needed and the confidence to move forward.

Ongoing Support I understand that every baby is different, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Every family receives unlimited text and email follow-up for continued guidance and reassurance. For your peace of mind, I also provide a complimentary re-assessment after four weeks should you have any concerns regarding re-attachment of the tongue tie.

I offer home visits in London and around Dorset.
