When you book antenatal care with me, I will honour your uniqueness and ensure that your care reflects your individual history, emotional needs, and beliefs about health and wellbeing. You are the centre of your decision making, and I am here to support you in creating a care plan that aligns with your personal values and vision for your pregnancy.
I offer woman-centred care, shaped around your needs and your unique story. From the moment you book, you will receive one-to-one midwifery care in the comfort of your own home, beginning with a detailed, unhurried booking appointment. This is an opportunity for us to explore your well-being on many levels, understand your hopes and plans for your journey, take a full medical history, and develop an individualized care plan.
Subsequent antenatal appointments usually last around one hour, allowing us ample time to dive deep into your physical and emotional health and get to know each other and build a trusting relationship. Visits occur monthly until 24 weeks, then fortnightly until 37 weeks, and weekly until your birth. This is approximately 10-15 visits in total depending on when you book.
I provide guidance and support with common pregnancy questions and concerns throughout your pregnancy, and referrals to trusted colleagues if needed. I will also help you navigate your choices within maternity care, ensuring that you are fully informed and empowered to make decisions that feel right for you. As part of your antenatal care, we will discuss:
Pregnancy nutrition
How to connect with your baby
Assessing risks and options for blood tests, genetic testing, and ultrasound scans
Navigating challenges like being Rh-negative or having gestational diabetes or postdates pregnancy
Preparing for a VBAC/HBAC and more!
Additionally, we’ll discuss your vision for birth, your fears, wishes, and what you may need. This is a time to reflect on how to make your journey unique and comfortable for you and your baby.

Antenatal care only from early pregnancy (approx 10-15 visits depending on gestation at booking). All midwifery care is completed in your home. Care offered within 1.5 hours of Shaftesbury, Dorset only. Please contact prior to purchase to confirm availability.
